Located ony 10-15 minutes from the lake, Heavenly, and casinos, Haus von Fat sleeps up to 10 adults (let us know if you have kids!). Minimum 2-night stay in fall/spring, 3 nights in summer and during the holidays!
About the Home
Our beautiful 2-story, 4-bedroom home features a bonus room that offers extra sleeping space, making it ideal for large family gatherings or a fun retreat with friends. Enjoy easy access to the lake, hiking, biking trails, and nearby casinos.
The spacious open living room is wonderful for entertaining, complete with a BBQ on the upstairs patio (available seasonally). Unwind in the downstairs hot tub that comfortably seats 7.
The primary bedroom upstairs boasts a king bed and a queen bed with an en-suite bathroom. Downstairs, you'll find two queen bedrooms, a room with one double and a bunk bed with two singles, and a cozy movie room with a couch. We can’t wait to welcome you!

The house is located in a beautiful pine filled quiet neighborhood near Meyers. It is a 10-15 minute drive to the Lake with biking right out the bike door. World class mountain biking (Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Corral Trail, etc.)
The house is conveniently located just a short drive from some of South Lake Tahoe's top attractions. Heavenly Ski Resort is about 15 minutes away, offering fantastic skiing and snowboarding in the winter. The vibrant Stateline casinos are also nearby, roughly 10 minutes from the house, providing entertainment and dining options. Plus, the stunning Lake Tahoe is just a 15-minute drive, perfect for swimming, boating, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Enjoy the best of both relaxation and adventure right at your doorstep!
There is a great grocery store called Lira’s, a 5-minute drive away.
There is wildlife in the area, including bears. Please read all provided information on how to be Bear Aware. Even with regular pest control service, there is a chance of seeing/hearing small animals/insects (including but not limited to ants, mice, and bats).

MULTILEVEL HOME. This is a multilevel home with outside to access the front door and stairs inside to access the main living area and bedrooms.
NO AIR CONDITIONER. Like most homes in Lake Tahoe, we do not have air conditioning.
NO SMOKING. Absolutely no smoking in the home or in the outside space. Smoking in or on the property is subject to a $500 fee. No smoking on the premises.
WINTER WEATHER WARNING (November-April). Outdoor furniture (including the BBQ) may not be available. During the winter months a 4WD or show chains are recommended to access this home. There may be snowy, icy and other conditions that make driving, parking, navigating the driveway and other transportation difficult at times. Guest is entirely responsible for their choices related to vehicle usage, and Guest and Co-Host strongly recommend adequate consideration thereof. Chains or 4WD/AWD are required to travel over Hwy 50 (Echo Pass) and SR 207 (Kingsbury Grade) during snowstorms.
RECOMMENDATION OF TRAVEL INSURANCE: Due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, heavy snow falls and smoke associated with wildfires, We strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance from a 3rd party to safeguard against unexpected cancellations. Storms, weather and/or fire conditions are not an exception to this policy and the cancellation policy will stand.
NO PETS. Pets are not permitted.

VHR Permit # 19-0541 | Maximum Overnight Occupancy (Adults 13+): 10 | 4 Parking Spaces | El Dorado County VHR Rules Listed in House Rules/Rental Agreement | Anytime a pet/service animal/emotional support animal is outside of the home and is not in a fully fenced backyard, the pet/service animal/emotional service animal must be kept on a leash and accompanied by the owner.
DOUGLAS COUNTY VHR RULES
We ask that the person booking the home is the primary guest staying in the home and is at least 25 years of age. A signed rental agreement and proof of identity for age verification are required at the time of booking per Douglas County vacation home rental rules.
In order to be compliant with the VHR rules of Douglas County, Guest must provide the following information the day of arrival (if not sooner): Driver’s license, License plate numbers for all cars that will be parked at Property during Guest’s stay, Contact phone number and email address. If this information is not received by date specified, Co-Host and Owner have the right to withhold entry instructions and/or cancel the reservation with no refund to the Guest (cancellation policy noted in the booking channel will not apply). Parking passes must be placed on the Driver's side dashboard and must include guest phone number and Property address. Guests must only park in designated areas. Failure to comply will result in a $500 fine imposed to the Guest. By booking this home, Guest acknowledges they are responsible for all occupants regarding compliance of all rules and laws, and fines for noncompliance.
DOUGLAS COUNTY RENTAL RULES
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: There shall be no gatherings, events, wedding or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the confirmed booking. Property’s occupancy limits must be followed at all times and are references on the booking platform.
PARKING: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats and trailers must be parked in the home's designated parking spots.
QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week. Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.
LIGHTS OUT: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.
RED FLAG WARNINGS: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal BBQs and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winders, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility (the guest) to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.
BEARS & TRASH. Visiting Lake Tahoe means you are entering Bear Country. While fun, we need to be extra careful with food in left cars and trash left out. Bears get hungry, therefore if you have trash, ALWAYS utilize the bear box and NEVER leave ANY food in your cars since the bears WILL break in and get it. We have bears that regularly walk through this neighborhood. Don’t leave the house unlocked and always make sure doors are windows are closed and locked when you are not home.If a bear breaks into the home/bear box because bear aware rules are not followed, there will be a minimum $250 fee.
EXCESSIVE TRASH FEE. Please be advised that there is a $300 excessive trash/disposal fee added to the cleaning fee if excessive trash is left behind at the house and not disposed of correctly in the bear box or taken away by the Guest.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking are subject to a full refund*, as long as the booking is made greater than 14 days in advance.
Cancellations made with 30 days or more notice are subject to a full refund*.
Cancellations made with 15-29 days notice are subject to a 35% refund of the nightly rate, and full refund of cleaning fee and insurance fee (if applicable)*.
Cancellations made with fewer than 15 days notice are subject to a full refund of cleaning fee and insurance fee (if applicable)*. No refund will be issued for the nightly rate.
