About the Home
"What a gem! This place is a little piece of paradise. Off the beaten path, minutes from restaurants and the lake, with sprawling hills of snow right in the backyard! Our kids had the most amazing time just hanging out right here. Building forts, snowman and saucering down the little hills. The perfect little spot nestled in the most beautiful neighborhood. The loft was my kids most favorite part! The fire place kept the house warm, and the kitchen was perfect for all the meals we whipped up! Can’t wait to book our trip for next year!" -Taryn

"We had an amazing stay at this cabin! The cleanliness was impeccable, and every supply we needed was thoughtfully stocked. The host was incredibly communicative and helpful throughout our stay, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy and well-maintained retreat. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Thank you for a memorable stay." - Christine
“We brought our two kids, 5 and 12, up for a holiday weekend and were totally bowled over by Jordan’s place! We kept saying it was the nicest Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The entire interior is spotless, stylish, and extremely well-appointed. We were super close to our friends at Northstar, and the kids also loved playing in the the snow behind the house. The kids also loved sleeping in the loft— it felt very cool and private to them. We can’t wait to come back!!” -Emily
This cabin stands out as the most charming and unexpectedly delightful home, thanks to its incredibly pleasing interior floor plan. Nestled along the scenic backdrop of the third fairway of the Old Brockway Golf Course, The Birdie offers a prime location. Amazing panoramic golf course views with tall windows framing the wooded 3rd fairway. Situated just a short stroll away are the public beach, lakeside sand volleyball court, boat ramp, Safeway, Spindleshanks, and an array of other restaurants, ensuring convenience and leisure at your doorstep. For outdoor enthusiasts, the proximity to Northstar ski area (9 minutes) is a notable advantage. Other ski resorts such as Palisades Tahoe, Homewood and Diamond Peak are just a short drive away as well.
"Wonderful location. The cabin was close to everything yet tucked away in a peaceful, wooded setting. Our family made some great memories here." -Dan

House Notes & Rules
NO SMOKING. Absolutely no smoking in the home or in the outside space. Smoking in or on the property is subject to a $300 fee. No smoking on the premises.
PET RULES. We welcome 1 furry friend here at The Birdie per stay, but since this is first and foremost a house for humans, we ask that you help them with some basic manners:
Dogs are NOT permitted on the furniture in any way, no exceptions! (Not with your own blankets from home or even if they are hypoallergenic). This includes sofas as well as beds.
Please make sure you place the couch protectors on the couch if you have a furry friend with you. As mentioned above, they are not allowed on the furniture. But in case they accidently jump up one time, this will help protect the leather. The couch is aniline leather and scratches very easily so it is important to protect it from paws and doggy nails.
Be considerate of our neighbors and don’t leave dogs that bark a lot by themselves in the house or in the yard. Dogs who are in new environments often act differently than they do at their own home. Please take care of our home by taking your dog with you when you go out to avoid behaviors that may result from an anxious or territorial dog left alone in a new place.
Please also note that while it is very common for most Tahoe dogs to be off leash. When your pet is outside s/he needs to be on a leash. Per Placer County’s short-term rental rules regarding pets and homes with unfenced yards (our yard is not fenced): Pets shall be secured within the boundaries of the STR parcel at all times. If the STR parcel is not fenced, pets must be kept on a leash and accompanied by the owner at all times while outside.
As mentioned above, when you leave the cabin, please bring your pet with you. If you plan to leave your pet at the cabin alone, you must bring a crate and keep the pet crated at all times when you are not there.
If your dog’s paws are dirty, please wipe them before letting the dog inside. There are white rags as well as baby wet wipes under the kitchen sink that may be used for this purpose. • Dogs must be 100% house trained. Owners are fully responsible for their dog’s behavior while at the residence. Please pick up after your pets around the home and the outside area. If your pet does have an accident, please immediately clean it up and spray “Nature’s Miracle” (located underneath the kitchen sink). We ask that you notify us if this occurs so we can make sure to take further action to make sure our floors and carpets last for years to come.
This is coyote country and they are really good at luring pups into their pack - so keep a close eye on your fur baby!
Types of Dogs Allowed: Please know that while they are super cute, we cannot allow puppies in our home. And while we LOVE ALL DOGS, unfortunately, our insurance will not allow us to welcome these dog breeds into our home: Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Terriers, Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios, and Wolf Hybrids.
WINTER WEATHER WARNING (November-April). Outdoor furniture (including the BBQ) may not be available. During the winter months a 4WD or show chains are recommended to access this home. There may be snowy, icy and other conditions that make driving, parking, navigating the driveway and other transportation difficult at times. Guest is entirely responsible for their choices related to vehicle usage, and Guest and Co-Host strongly recommend adequate consideration thereof.
