You’ll find an open plan kitchen and dining area opening out to a classic Tahoe great room anchored by a crackling fireplace surrounded by panoramic windows with forest vistas and a wraparound elevated deck. Step outside for a deep breath of mountain air and take in the quiet views of Tahoe Pines (Drifthaus is surrounded on 2 sides by wide-open conservancy land!)
The open plan connects the great room to the well-appointed kitchen with a central island perfect for gathering and chatting while cooking up a feast or just sipping a glass of wine. The kitchen features chef-grade stainless steel appliances, a 5-burner gas stove, granite countertops and a host of kitchen gadgets including bar tools and cocktail glassware.
You’ll also find a kitted-out coffee station with multiple brew methods to start your day right.
Bedrooms are tastefully appointed to be your haven for a great night’s sleep. Plush hotel mattresses, Cozy down duvets, Quince linens and Scottish Merino Wool blankets surround you in homey chalet vibes.
On the upper level you’ll find the master suite with en-suite full bath, large picture windows and ample wardrobe space. You’ll also find the spacious 5-bed bunkroom with a large TV, boardgames and gaming console.
Upstairs also provides a dedicated work nook with a bright picture window overlook and highspeed internet making Drifthaus a great remote work hideout.
Two additional queen bedrooms and another full bath with laundry facilities can be found on the lower level.

Neighborhood
Drifthaus is perfectly positioned on the deep blue west shore of Lake Tahoe in the small community of Tahoe Pines. This is worlds away from the bustle of South Lake casinos and the traffic and congestion on the North Shore.
Our community neighborhood backs up to open forest. Step outside and you can walk, trail run, or bike along forest roads, trails or along the lakeshore, including our neighborhood beach and pier.
The road north and south along Lake Tahoe is dotted with hidden gems; sandy beaches, rocky coves, scenic bays and local eating and drinking spots like Sunnyside Resort, Chamberlands, Fire Sign Cafe, and the famous coffee and pastries at West Shore Market and Cafe. Tahoe City is 10 minutes away as a great hub for stocking up, dining out, grabbing a coffee or cocktail. Plenty of spots to relax at the beach or along the Truckee river.
Hiking and trail-running trailheads are right up the road including the breathtaking views of the entire lake from Eagle Rock.

This is a multilevel home with stairs up or down to all bedrooms.
Firewood is NOT provided.
NO PETS. Pets are not permitted.
NO SMOKING. Absolutely no smoking in the home or in the outside space. Smoking in or on the property is subject to a $300 fee. No smoking on the premises.
WINTER WEATHER WARNING (November-April). Outdoor furniture (including the BBQ) may not be available. During the winter months a 4WD or show chains are recommended to access this home. There may be snowy, icy and other conditions that make driving, parking, navigating the driveway and other transportation difficult at times. Guest is entirely responsible for their choices related to vehicle usage, and Guest and Co-Host strongly recommend adequate consideration thereof.

We ask that the person booking the home is the primary guest staying in the home and is at least 25 years of age.
PLACER COUNTY RULES
Placer County requires we inform you of the rules and regulations relevant to the home's Short Term Rental Permit. We thank you in advance for abiding by the rules below (which are also included in the listing's photos and posted in the home).
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: There shall be no gatherings, events, wedding or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the listing.
PARKING: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats and trailers must be parked in the home's designated parking spots.
QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week. Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.
LIGHTS OUT: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.
RED FLAG WARNINGS: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal BBQs and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winders, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility (the guest) to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking are subject to a full refund*, as long as the booking is made greater than 14 days in advance.
Cancellations made with 30 days or more notice are subject to a full refund*.
Cancellations made with 15-29 days notice are subject to a 35% refund of the nightly rate, and full refund of cleaning fee and insurance fee (if applicable)*.
Cancellations made with fewer than 15 days notice are subject to a full refund of cleaning fee and insurance fee (if applicable)*. No refund will be issued for the nightly rate.
We strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance from a 3rd party to safeguard against unexpected cancellations. Storms, weather and/or fire conditions are not an exception to this policy and the cancellation policy will stand.
