About the Home
Quaint yet sophisticated, our cabin is located on the West shore of gorgeous Donner Lake. Our 3-bedroom + loft home features a bright, updated kitchen, a full bath, a private backyard, and is close to tons of fun outdoor activities. We love furry friends and welcome one dog during your stay.
Recently redecorated, our home boasts stylish interior furnishings, including a farmhouse-style dining table, comfortable living room couch and chairs, cozy beds and bedding, and new kitchen appliances.

Walk into this charming cottage and find a bright, open living, dining, and kitchen area that leads straight out to the private backyard, where you'll find a BBQ for afternoon cookouts and a fire pit for summer nights. The first bedroom with a queen-sized bed, access to the backyard, Biddeford blankets, AC, and more is on this level, along with a full bathroom and laundry room.
Upstairs, you'll find the master bedroom with a comfortable king-sized bed, another bedroom with a twin and a full, and an open loft with two twin beds.
Downstairs, enjoy a cozy porch with two rocking chairs and a front yard with a picnic table for outdoor dining.
During your stay, you will have access to our washer/dryer, WiFi, and room for three parked cars.

There is so much to do at Donner Lake! Enjoy paddle boarding, boating, picnics on the Donner Docks, hiking, biking, water activities, and the Donner Museum.
You are an 8 minute drive to Truckee, and a 10 minute drive to downtown Truckee. In Truckee, you will find a lot of restaurants, shopping, outdoor stores, and more. Just down the street from the home, there is a local market you can walk to in under 5 minutes.
West End beach is just up the road - about a 9-minute walk. Take your morning coffee and sit out and enjoy the peaceful lake. Bring a picnic down and spend the day swimming in the lake! You can also head to the public docks on the North side of the lake - about a 5-minute drive. We are also close to our favorite breakfast spot - Donner Lake Kitchen - only 3 miles away. You will also find a small market, Sticks Market, where you can find groceries and pre-made items.
Donner Lake is a wonderful spot for a family vacation throughout the year. Because our lot is flat, you don’t have to worry about getting up and down steep hills or driveways! We are very accessible.
Plus, you can escape the traffic of Tahoe and really enjoy a vacation on the lake without the hustle and bustle of being on Lake Tahoe.

NO SMOKING. Absolutely no smoking in the home or in the outside space. Smoking in or on the property is subject to a $300 fee. No smoking on the premises.
PET RULES. Maximum 1 dog (30 pounds or less and don't shed) IS allowed with advance notice of reservation. Pet fee must be paid prior to arrival.
Please make sure all pet excretion is picked up in the backyard and around the property.
Please bring a crate with you and crate you dog(s) if they will be left at home for any reason.
Please be courteous of neighborhood pets, as most Tahoe dogs will be off leash.
This is coyote country and they are really good at luring pups into their pack - so keep a close eye on your fur baby!
Dogs are NOT permitted on the furniture in any way (Not with your own blankets from home or even if they are hypoallergenic).
*Additional cleaning fee may be applied if there is excessive pet mess.
WINTER WEATHER WARNING (November-April). Outdoor furniture (including the BBQ) may not be available. During the winter months a 4WD or show chains are recommended to access this home. There may be snowy, icy and other conditions that make driving, parking, navigating the driveway and other transportation difficult at times. Guest is entirely responsible for their choices related to vehicle usage, and Guest and Co-Host strongly recommend adequate consideration thereof.

STR Permit # 001682 | Maximum Overnight Occupancy (Adults 13+): 8 | 3 Parking Spaces | Truckee’s STR Rules Listed in House Rules/Rental Agreement | Anytime a pet/service animal is outside of the home and is not in a fully fenced backyard, the pet/service animal must be kept on a leash and accompanied by the owner.
We ask that the person booking the home is the primary guest staying in the home and is at least 25 years of age.
TRUCKEE COUNTY RULES
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: There shall be no gatherings, events, wedding or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the confirmed booking. Property’s occupancy limits must be followed at all times and are references on the booking platform.
PARKING: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats and trailers must be parked in the home's designated parking spots.
QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week. Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.
LIGHTS OUT: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.
RED FLAG WARNINGS: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal BBQs and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winders, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility (the guest) to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.
TRASH: All trash must be kept in the Bear Box and secured with the bear box latch.
GRILL: The grill needs to be kept 10 feet from the house.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking are subject to a full refund*, as long as the booking is made greater than 14 days in advance.
Cancellations made with 30 days or more notice are subject to a full refund*.
Cancellations made with 15-29 days notice are subject to a 35% refund of the nightly rate, and full refund of cleaning fee and insurance fee (if applicable)*.
Cancellations made with fewer than 15 days notice are subject to a full refund of cleaning fee and insurance fee (if applicable)*. No refund will be issued for the nightly rate.
We strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance from a 3rd party to safeguard against unexpected cancellations. Storms, weather and/or fire conditions are not an exception to this policy and the cancellation policy will stand.
